English Summary

The purpose of Monticello Society is to:
- study the history, society, politics and culture of the USA
- work to increase Norwegians' knowledge & understanding of American affairs
- oppose anti-American attitudes, particularly in the Norwegian media

We are a group of pro-American Norwegians who are interested in America's past, present and future. We arrange study groups, video sessions, election night parties, etc. We also work to correct factual errors and to fight anti-American attitudes in the Norwegian press.

The only requirement for joining Monticello Society is acceptance of our statement of purpose. In addition, those who want to vote at our annual meeting would have to pay an annual membership fee of NOK 200.

Monticello Society is a member of ACCN, the American Coordinating Council of Norway. We are non-partisan, both in the Norwegian and the American political contexts.
